BSCB And Public Transit Issues

BSCB continues to be very active and outspoken on all matters surrounding public transit for people with disabilities. BSCB lettter to legislators, April 2012

Click here to download a zip file containing a position paper and addendum that we submitted to the Governor's Executive Order 530 Commission and MBTA regarding paratransit reform, and a compilation of the press coverage of the first MBTA public hearings in Newton and Worcester on January 17, 2012 regarding fare increases and service cuts.

Jennifer Harnish, Nancy Jodoin, Bob Hachey, Brian Charlson and Rick Morin were quoted in various newspapers, TV and Radio. Sharon Strzalkowski also spoke out at the Worcester meeting, and the Board continues to actively represent BSCB members and the blind community at the various hearings. Everyone is encouraged to attend and testify at the MBTA public hearings.

Please e-mail Rick Morin if you want additional information about this advocacy work and/or would like to provide input.
