The Meeting was brought to order at 8:15pm Eastern. Present were: Mike Duke, Charles Hodge, Deanna Noriega, Cindy Van Winkle, Ken Stewart, ex-officio member Janelle Edwards & staff member Sharon Lovering.
Acceptance of agenda was moved by Ken, seconded by Charlie and Passed.
Sharon presented the bids for consideration.
National Braille Press came in with the lowest bid for the Braille production.
Cindy moved to accept the NBP bid for a 2 year contract to do the Braille. Seconded by Deanna. Passed unanimously.
United Book Press came in with the lowest bid for large print production and they are who we have been using.
Deanna moved, Ken seconded, to recontract with United Book Press. This passed unanimously.
The only bid received for the cassette tape version was from Patomic.
Deanna moved & Ken seconded to accept the Patomic Talking Book Services for our cassette production. This passed unanimously.
Ken inquired about adding our logo on our return labels. It was decided that some research on cost needed to go into this.
CD: We need to factor in cost of CD's to produce this format in house. 10000 = $2050, 5000 = $1141.25. She didn't have cost for mailers.
Discussion on formats and a short article.
Charlie brought up his belief that we should pay to have each issue of the Forum copyrighted. It was suggested to invite Mr. Duboff, Attorney, to be on our next call. Mike will speak with Chris to see if they're discussions are at a point to have him speak with us.
Mike will email us about when to meet next to discuss the budget.
