47TH NATIONAL CONVENTION
2008 SPONSOR OPPORTUNITIES
Louisville, KY
July 4 - 12, 2008
There are more than 58,000 blind children in the United States, and nearly 75,000 Americans will become visually impaired during 2008. One of every four people over age 75 has a vision loss, and seven out of every ten blind and visually-impaired people are unemployed or underemployed.
The American Council of the Blind (ACB) has been providing information, resources, and help to people with vision loss since 1961. ACB's annual convention is packed with events and activities, and attracts over 2,000 blind and visually impaired people from the USA and several foreign countries.
This is an opportunity for you to let the blind and visually impaired know about your business by sponsoring an event or convention service. You might:
* Sponsor activities for children or college students, or workshops for parents and teachers of blind children;
* Underwrite the convention pre-registration mailing (24,000 pieces), the official convention program, tour transportation services, or services for guide dog users;
* Sponsor technology workshops or programs to teach career development and job-retention skills;
* Post your name and logo prominently throughout the week by sponsoring convention services such as the information/volunteer desk, the registration area, the ACB Cafe, or the communication center; or
* Underwrite an entire day or the annual ACB banquet.
The opportunity to reach people with vision loss doesn't stop at the convention. Nearly 80 hours of convention programming are broadcast on ACB Radio, our premiere 5-channel Internet connection; your message will reach people all around the world through promotional spots and features.
There's a convention function or service to fit every budget and to match your marketing and philanthropic goals. For more information, or to customize a sponsorship package to meet your specific needs, contact Brenda Dillon, Advertising and Sponsorship Coordinator, at (615) 874-1223, or by email at
