STARTING PAY: Minimum Wage - $6.75/hr - Shift differential for swing & grave
shifts worked 6:30 pm - 6:00 am.
JOB LOCATION: Honolulu International Airport
SHIFTS – ABILITY TO WORK SEVERAL 8-HOUR SHIFTS, WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS;
Morning, Swing and Grave Shifts. Stores are open between 5:30 a.m. to 1:30
a.m.; open up to 21 hrs / day, 7 days per week. We have various start times,
days and shifts that are available.
POSITIONS WILL BE FILLED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE - JOB ANNOUNCEMENT EXPIRES WHEN ALL
VACANCIES ARE FILLED.
SUMMARY OF JOB: On-Call sales positions are used to cover regular employee
shifts on an as needed basis. These positions assist customers by selling store
items such as newspapers, magazines and other printed material, candies,
packaged foods, sundries, soft drinks, etc. at Newsstands at the Honolulu
International Airport. On-Call staff may be called with less than 8 hours
advance notice.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Ability to greet and assist customers at the Airport
courteously; answer questions, makes sales suggestions, ring up sales on a
scanner type cash register, give accurate and proper change, bag sold items;
give receipt and good customer service; arranges stock and keeps store safe,
secure, clean and organized. Provides temporary coverage for regular staffing
or for high business periods.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (1) High School Diploma or General Education Degree and
three (3) months retail sales experience or other related experience or training
is required. (2) MUST HAVE LEGAL STATUS TO WORK IN U.S.A and pass Airport
security fingerprinting and background checks required for getting security
clearance and badge; (3) All job applicants to whom a job offer is extended are
required to undergo and pass drug testing before starting employment; (4)
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to speak, listen, greet and service customers
for 2 to 4 hour periods; ability to lift up to 10 pounds regularly and
occasionally up to 15 pounds. Ability to walk, bend, kneel, stretch, grab,
touch and reach; occasionally may climb a step ladder or stool. Ability to
read, write, hear and communicate effectively with customers; use computer
keyboard and cash register/credit card equipment, must have good math and
keyboard skills for making proper change; must be presentable, honest and
dependable; Reasonable or special accommodations for interviewing can be
