That sounds like a good idea, Sue, for our Musical Mixer.

If we still need someone for entertainment (piano/vocal) I have a friend
who will be there that I think I can strong arm. You may have met him, Terry
Olandes, new president of the Greater Cincinnati chapter. I have already
talked with him and he sounded positive.

Additionally, Carla Ruschival has cautioned on another list that bookings
of this sort can carry a range of high costs.

Entertainment

    Hello John,

My response, based on my past 12 years of working with AAVL
entertainment programs is that this is probably more appealing to a younger
population. Our programs which have been most popular have consisted of an
emphasis on more old time music whith which folks could sing along. This
entertainment program would be more appropriate for FIA.

Thought I'd pass this along in case this might be of interest for
planning purposes.

My name is Toby Singer. I'm writing to you from Visionary Media, a
non-profit, 501(c)(3) arts organization dedicated to providing opportunity
to blind and visually-impaired people in music, media and advertising.

I'm looking to get in touch with the member of your organization who
books entertainment for special events. I'm in the process of booking
performances for our world-class visually-impaired musical artists. They
play music ranging from salsa to R&B, from stunning jazz piano and blues
guitar to top-notch covers. Each provides a unique, socially-conscious
musical experience.

Please visit www.visionarymedialive.com and take a listen to these
amazing, talented people. Can you help put me in touch with the person who
does your special events booking?

      Thanks so much!

      Toby
