i was flattered, scared, and felt helpless when a new blind diabetic called 
me for help on "how do you get the blood on the strip?" I told her it takes 
practice and added some tips for pumping finger to get the blood to the 
surface and then tracing underneath the strip to the end where the blood 
needs to go. she's to go to a diabetic educator next week and i hope the 
educator will work with her with her talking meter. she didn't know what 
kind she had. i told her about this group, but she doesn't have unlimited 
long d.
