Pat, the very best of luck. I fear that I am right behind you. I'll put
you in my daily prayers along with everyone else who is suffering this
problem. My kidney doctor said if I had to lose my kidneys I lived in the
best place to do it. The average wait is two years. God be with you.

Well the kidneys are going. When I wen to see the nephrologis, he said I
needed to make an appointment with dialysis nurse educator. I did that and
talked aobut peritoneal dialysis vx. Hemodialysis. As my vascular system is
so bad, the doc thnks I will do better with the peritoneal type. It
actually sounds better than the hemo as the diet is less constricting and
over-all the person feels better. It is done daily. My husband can see
well enough to do the contecting and disconnecting that is necessary with
the "beer tap" they will insert in my lower abdomen. I will see him again
on Dec. 1 and I suppose he will send me to a vascular surgeon to talk about
having that done soon. Don't know if they will do anything else at the
same time. If the peritoneal dialysis does not wrk for some reason, they
will then do the other.
Rather depressing, but my docs have kep me off dialysis for a long time, so
I appreciate that.
