Dear Chris and List:

I don't have hard numbers as to Insulin pen usage VS. separate
Insulin bottle and syringe stats, but think if the man is
prescribed a type of Insulin that is available for a pen, e. g.
Humulin R, Humulog, Lantus or the various Novo types of Insulin
his life will be much simpler than using a loading device for a
separate ampoule of Insulin and syringe.

You just dial your dose and press the release button for Lantus
or press on the dose selector knob for a Huma pen.

Does he have any spasticity in his hands or is he profoundly hard
of hearing as well as blind? Also, if his sense of touch is
impaired, he may have trouble counting the clicks of his Insulin
pen.

Good luck.

Brian
