Hi Chanelle.
Welcome to the ACBDA group. We are more than happy to share any information
with you that will be of benefit. We are also open to various discussions,
and some of our members also tend to put articles of importance on this
list.
We, as a membership, meet during the annual ACB convention, this summer
being held in Phoenix, AZ.
We have members on this list who have had Type 1 diabetes going back some 60
years, and who don't mind sharing their life experiences.
Again, welcome, and don't hesitate to ask questions.
Ken Metz

Subject: [acb-diabetics] introduction
Dear list,
I have just joined the list and thought I would briefly introduce myself. I
have had Type 1 diabetes for over 15 years and have been blind since birth.
I don't know much about the ACB, but I thought that I would like to join a
diabetes list discussing accessible products as well as staying healthy with
diabetes. Of particular interest to me is the possibility of a talking
insulin pump. I have heard that Prodigy is working on one but am not aware
of any details or when it will be released. I also just spoke with someone
yesterday who has developed a talking remote for the Medtronic insulin pump
and is trying to get Medtronic to support its development. Currently, I am
using a Paradigm pump from Medtronic. I look forward to receiving posts from
the list and to contributing.
Chanelle
