Hi Channelle,
This is a great list. We also have an affiliate with ACB. Our group is called Diabetics in Action.
I know that at the conference and convention in Phoenix this summer we will be having the vice president of Prodigy talking to us. He will be letting us know at that time how they are doing on the talking insulin pump.
I am the past president of ACBDA and have been a type 2 diabetics for about twelve years. I am on the pills yet to control my diabetes.
I hope you enjoy this list.
Dee

Subject: [acb-diabetics] introduction
Dear list,
I have just joined the list and thought I would briefly introduce myself. I have had Type 1 diabetes for over 15 years and have been blind since birth. I don't know much about the ACB, but I thought that I would like to join a diabetes list discussing accessible products as well as staying healthy with diabetes. Of particular interest to me is the possibility of a talking insulin pump. I have heard that Prodigy is working on one but am not aware of any details or when it will be released. I also just spoke with someone yesterday who has developed a talking remote for the Medtronic insulin pump and is trying to get Medtronic to support its development. Currently, I am using a Paradigm pump from Medtronic. I look forward to receiving posts from the list and to contributing.
Chanelle
