no, I do not believe this to be true. I have been told by my nurse that
the swabs causes you to bleed more.

Subject: [acb-diabetics] Question about using alcohol to clean finger.
My twin sister also has Type II diabetes and she heard that using alcohol
swabs to clean the finger to be punctured elevates the glucose reading. Has
anyone else heard this and can anyone tell me if it is true? There are some
occasions when alcohol swabs would be more convenient for me to use than
soap, water and paper towels. Thanks for any information you can provide. Jo
