 This medication can cause problems with the Pancreases insulin 
productivity.  If he needs the insulin then he needs to be treated as one 
that is Diabetic.  His diet and medication levels need monitoring carefully 
.  Blood sugars need to be taken several   times a day and I am certain that 
this is being done.  But, when he comes home he needs to seek counseling to 
keep from getting in trouble.  He will have to learn as we have learned to 
care for our Diabetic self's.

my dad has been given steroids while in hospital for respiratory ails and
his sugar was apparently elevated enough that they gave him insulin. is he
in any danger of having the common sugar lows of insulin dependent
diabetics, and is sugar lowering meds. usually paired with steroids for
patients needing steroids?
