Barb, (Bill here) My wife, Joyce, has a pill splitter which I have used a
few times, too. The trick is:
1. Talk nice to the pill and ask for its cooperation.
2. Place the pill or pill-cap into position and hold it in place with a
finger.
3. Slowly lower the plitter blad onto the pill until it touches the top
edge with enough pressure to prevent pill rolling.
4. Remove finger from the pill and then with the other hand press down
quickly on the slbade lid. The pill or pill-cap will split cleanly.
5. If the pill manages to skid away and scoot onto the floor, get out the
vacuum cleaner and retrieve the pill and try again.
6. If the pills seem very slick and hard to hold in place, try a small
piece of celephane tape under the spot, where the pill will sit. That
should hold the little bugger there so it can be properly sized.
7. If these suggestions, excluding the tongue in cheek ones, do not work,
take ten deep breaths and locate someone with a pill cutter who used to
slice baloney for a living. Good luck.
