[acb-diabetics] broccoli

Several years ago I had bladder cancer.  I was advised to eat broccoli, along with cabbage, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts.  I'd also like to know what the down side is to these veggies.  Actually, I already know what the down side of Brussels sprouts is ... yuk.

A  while ago Pat posted that diabetics with gaseo persis should not eat broccoli. What is the reason for that and what happens if the diabetic does eat broccoli?
