[acb-diabetics] Hello

Patricia, I am a type 1 diabetic and have been for 43 years.  I just started
losing my vision in 2002, but since 2004 have been totally blind in one eye
and 20/400 in the other.  I have gained so much weight in the past 5years,
that now I am at even more increased risk for heart disease and stroke.  My
vision health almost totally relies on my blood sugars being within normal
limits, and I am having a hard time doing this since all the weight gain.  I
haven't been exercising like I did before my visual impairment.(I am a nurse
and would briskly walk up and down hallways and to patientt's rooms, so I
logged in a lot of miles!!)  And I want to get back to as normal as
possible!  A few of us at our MCB affiliate in St. Charles are talking about
starting a  discussion or support group  I think it would be a good idea.  I
can't be on a  pump because I can't see wha to do. So, I am waiting for a
text-to-speech insulin pump.   Sorry this is so long, but  this is a
discussion list, right?  And I am certainly discussing. :-)

Michael,

The dues are $10.00 per year and I think they are due now!.  

We have a program and a business meeting at he national convention and every
2 months, we have a conference call and talk about  some diabetic related
subject.

I live in CA and have had ttyp1 diabetes for 66 years!

I found out last August I was a type 2 Diabetic. I may not be ab;e tp attemd
all the meetings but I would like much to know what is going

on, such as dues and things like that.
