First off, hope all is well with everyone.  I don't post much but 
thought I'd lend my 3 cents worth to this topic.

I hate when socks lose their elasticity and start sagging.  But one way 
that MIGHT prevent this is, after washing, hang the socks up and let 
them air dry.  We ladies learn to do this for our bras, because the 
drying machines tend to dry out the elastic too much.

Also one can take it a step further, and hand wash the socks in Woolite 
and let them air dry.
