Dear Melinda,

We are excited to report that both the Georgia House of Representatives and
Georgia Senate have passed Georgia House Bill (HB) 879.

Thank you so much for contacting your legislators and supporting the passage
of this legislation. HB 879 ensures our students with diabetes have access
to the care they need to survive - and to thrive. The law permits school
employees who are properly trained to assist children who need help and
allows kids who are able to manage their diabetes to do so at school.

Please take a moment to thank Representative Matt Ramsey
<http://advocacy.diabetes.org/site/R?i=0qAkhxfZNqi0atSZMxYoRQ> for going
above and beyond as the sponsor of this legislation.

If you have the time, please also contact Governor Deal
<http://advocacy.diabetes.org/site/R?i=xD03GBYYGlmZ3QH3-gufaQ> 's office to
thank him for his support of HB 879 and to let him know we look forward to
the bill signing.

Thank you for your advocacy and for everything you do to Stop DiabetesR!

Sincerely,
Brittany Freeman
Georgia State Advocacy Director
