> Experimental anti-obesity drug prevents leptin buildup
A new drug called JD5037 may hold promise for aiding long-term weight
maintenance without adverse effects such as anxiety, depression or suicidal
thoughts, according to an animal study in Cell Metabolism. Researchers said
the drug works by targeting the cannabinoid receptor type 1, a type of
weight-loss method that prevents excess leptin buildup in the body.
