[acb-diabetics] Blood Sugar Testing TechniquesEven though the notch can be felt from the upper side of the strip, blood is sucked in at the end of the strip.

    hello, All,

I'm now becoming an insulin user with the additional 4-times-per-day blood
sugar testing requirements.  I've had two sessions with a diabetic educator;
we think we've figured out what works for me.

I have tremors in my hands--usually can't feel them--the tremors, I mean.
I'm using a solo meter; if I place it in the lid of the case on the foam
pad, it places the strip at finger height from the table. I, too, have my
lancet set a bit deeper than most, so am assured of blood. By placing the
heel of my hand on the table, I can guide the appropriate bleeding finger or
thumb to the very tip of the strip.
So far, this is working. hth
