Let's see ... Learning Ally has Hope Warshaw's "Complete guide to Carb
Counting" and BARD has her book on easy diabetic meals. Both have somewhat
extensive description of food groups although politically-correct books
don't refer to them anymore. Gretchen Becker's "The first Year: type Two
Diabetes for the Newly-diagnosed" -- available also on BARD -- has some
material on food groups and good descriptions of the various diets to haved
come along in the past century.

the various categories various foods are in--for example what kinds of beans
can be considered both protein and starch. I think i know the answer to that
q, but a list would be great for foods and their categories.
