mine are rarely based on hunger. rather, I usually eat to try to maintain a 
reasonable sugar level and avoid hypoglycemia from my insulin dose. there 
are many times i'd likely eat less if I weren't taking insulin and basing 
what and when i eat on hunger--a rare feeling for me. though i've gained 
weight since being diagnosed, I'm still only 102 at 5 1.
