[acb-diabetics] is it my meter or the strips?

I received a question well beyond meters and strips today; a diabetic from
NY who is receiving dialysis treatments for his failing kidneys wants to
know if there is a place in Columbus that can provide him with treatments
while he attends convention.

Can anyone help?

She is probably right and your meter needs replaced. Or perhaps you are not
getting enough blood on the strip?

Recently it seems like i've been having more trouble getting a reading. some

have said out of range and readings of 32 or 37 have seemed unreasonable
according to the way i was feeling. a diabetic educator i know said it was
likely the meter. problem is these problems have been with 2 different
meters. batteries have seemed OK. since both of these meters are at least 4
years old, my diabetic educator friend says they probably need to be
replaced. any advice?
