JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides individual and group counseling sessions utilizing group process
techniques in coordination with interpersonal and intrapersonal skills.
Encourages healthy relationships and facilitation of the adjustments
necessary to the success of the blind or visually impaired process.
Develops plans for personal, social and improvement in conjunction with
specific Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors and Rehab Center staff.
Provides appropriate psychometric testing for consumer designated programs.
Such as the Cognitive test for the Blind and the Iowa Test for basic skills.
Maintains and provides case documentation on each consumer for tracking
individual progress.
MINIMUM AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelor's degree and professional experience in human services or social
services programs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters degree and professional experience in Rehabilitation Counseling,
Human Services or Mental Health or Counseling.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
This is a second shift position and the work schedule is Monday - Thursday,
1:00 pm - 9:00 pm; Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00.
Travel is required.
