Hi Jessie,
I don't believe anyone thought you were quibbling.
I didn't mean to seem to be quibbling either by answering your question about required convention attendance. I simply tried to give my interpretation of what I understand.
I guess it is difficult to interpret intent through text messages. I really have only the best intentions and hope to really try to be on the same page with people. If there is something I, or we, need to understand, by all means let's ask questions and attempt to be kind and cooperative with one another.
Thank you for your understanding,
Darian

For clarification, I was asking a question, not quiboling.
And, if asking a question is not permitted, I'll ask no more. I apologize.

Thank you for your comments, Donna.
At conference this year we discussed this issue.
Andy, in his capacity as president at the time\, emphasized that the president, secretary and program coordinator really need to be at the conferences. Of course we hope that all officers and members will make real efforts to attend. By attending in person, you have the option to have a voice in goal setting, elections and other things.
I do not believe convention attendance is specifically mandatory in our bylaws.
I thank each of you for whatever involvement you are able to commit to in the next two years as we strengthen our affiliate.
Sincerely,
Darian Slayton Fleming: MSW, CRC

I don't think we should quibble over Deanna's absence especially since she indicated well in advance of the convention she would be unable to attend due to work commitments. She is doing a good job and is willing to continue in that position so why worry about what's already done?

I'm a little confused. Deanna, were you at the convention?
I was under the impression that all officers had to be there now, in accordance with the Bylaws, to be elected?
