It is harder in some locations than others depending on how much competition
is in your area, the prevalence of managed care, and how many panels you are
able to join. I've not found it a good way to make a living. But it does
help to pay some expenses. Sharon

Subject: [acb-hsp] Starting a private practice
My name is Jennifer Harnish and I am a clinical psychologist in the Boston
area. I am newly licensed although did my training a dozen years ago
before my kids were born and before doing my own vision rehab. I am first
hoping to connect with any Boston area therapists who are visually impaired.
Also I am open to hearing any tips for starting a private practice.
Also, have you found that the professional journals and texts are available
in electronic formats? I have found some books on Bookshare but am just
beginning to renew memberships with APA and will be asking for their
journals in electronic format.
Thank you for any ideas you have to share and I am hoping to attend the
conference in July to meet many of you in person.
Jennifer Harnish
