Good news, all!

Thanks to the hard work of Lane Waters in the Minneapolis office, and
the
foresight of the Nevada Council of the Blind, we have achieved the
nearly-un-achievable.

We learned late yesterday afternoon that the ACB conference and
convention
will in fact be able to take advantage of a sales tax exemption in Reno.
Keep in mind that, as usual, this applies to group activities and
events,
not individual purchases and expenditures.

As most of you know, I had just given up on this happening. Do I ever
love
to be wrong when it means that, as a convention, we will save at least
$10,000 in taxes!

I will be issuing new menu files reflecting the pricing without taxes.
This
ruling will affect virtually everything we do, helping us to keep costs
down
for everyone. It certainly will help all groups lower their ticket
prices
for participants, which in turn will encourage more people to attend
events.

Thanks to Lane and Rick Kuhlmey and NCB for the role they all played in
making the impossible possible.

Carla
