Hi. Well, we have heard quite a few sources where one can obtain the DSM-IV-TR (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 4th Edition, Text Revised).
I do not know, however, if one can merely call APA (American Psychological Association) or APA (American Psychiatric Association) and obtain it in any format free. This book has quite a cost associated with it in any format.
I do know you can purchase it in HTML, PDF or print for a cost.
I do know you can get it at Allied Learning or Bookshare free, or for your membership,
and I do know I got it because I'm a student and so have it.
I can tell you, however, that unless you wish to read something very dry and boring, the book is essential a pain in the tailend to read. It is not easy in any case to find things.
I am attaching (and I hope attachments go through) a word doc of alphabetical listings. It is by far easier to use. Then you can take any one of them, say alcohol dependence. and type it in with DSMIV TR after it in your fave search ingine and it will pop up from the DSMIV TR.
You need that extension because otherwise, you'll possibly get DSM 3 or DSM1 (which can all be interesting) but could lower your grade dramatically, or cause you to mis-diagnose someone dramatically as well, at least based on today's standards --for whatever diagnoses may / may not be worth..
