March is Workplace Eye Wellness Month. According to the Center for Disease
Control, each day about 2000 U.S. workers receive some form of medical
treatment because of eye injuries sustained at work. It is estimated that
70% of the injuries were caused by contact with an object or equipment and
26% were caused by exposure to harmful substances or environments. The SC
Commission for the Blind encourages everyone to follow all workplace safety
rules to avoid work related eye injuries.
