[acb-hsp] ACB-HSP Conference call for August 5, 2011

The ACB-HSP membership conference call began at 8:36 pm. EDT., 5:36 pm. PDT.
In addition to the officers in attendance were Marilyn Lutter, Lauren Casey,
Barbara Brown, and Kenneth Simmeon Sr., who is a new member of the
Affiliate.  Deanna Austin spoke about the ACB conference and convention,
which was held in Louisville Kentucky in July.  Deanna stated that it was
impossible to hold a business meeting at the convention, since she and
Darian Slayton Flemming were the only ACB-HSP members present.  However, she
said that the networking social, held on Tuesday evening, July 10th, was
quite successful.  The ACB-HSP program was held on Wednesday, July 11, 2012.
The program included a presentation by Peter Altschul on diversity training
in the workplace, focusing on how disability could be included in such
training.  Deanna stated that the presentation was well attended, and that 3
new members joined the affiliate. Deanna gave the Treasurer's report, which
stated that, as of June 30, 2012,  the balance in the ACB-HSP checking
account was $541.53, and that the balance in the ACB-HSP savings account was
$50.43, totaling $591.96.  At this time, ACB-HSP has 15 renewed members, and
3 new members for a total of 18 members.  Due to the fact that the ACB-HSP
constitution does not currently allow elections via conference call and the
absence of the President, new officers could not be elected or appointed.
Deanna Austin has agreed to remain Treasurer until these issues can be
sorted out.  An announcement will be forthcoming regarding the dates and
times of upcoming officers' and membership conference calls.
