Session Description:

We know that the most effective method of gaining employment is using networks and connections. This is especially true in challenging labor markets. This webinar will provide information on the employer development process which includes:

· How we prepare to meet with employers-understanding our services and the benefits of each so we can clearly communicate these to employers.

· Using business language to avoid confusion and having to “over explain” what we do.

· Developing and focusing our message to employers.

· How to gain valuable insights into the needs and expectations of our employer customers.

· Networking – it’s hard to do from your office and it isn’t always “office hours”

· Managing information and knowledge about employer customers to make better job matches and ultimately increase employment opportunities.

The information presented will include insights from employers about how they currently view our services and what they would prefer to see in terms of how job developers approach and interact with them. Ultimately, we have to get away from merely a sales approach and understand that in order to increase employment outcomes for individuals we need to invest time in developing employer relationships, understanding their needs and expectations and, focus less on “quotas” and more on facilitating a good match between the employer and the job seeker.
