Hi Andy and all,
That's a good question. The main reason we ask is to ensure that our
sample is representative of the blind community and has roughly equal
numbers of participants who are NFB members, ACB members and
unaffiliated. I check the data throughout and will ramp up recruitment
of one group  if it has relatively low  participation. We are also
interested in seeing if any of the patterns we find are different for
those who don't join either organization than it is for those who are
active in one or the other.
