[acb-hsp] Hipa Question

I agree, Kevin. I have been appalled to find that even I, partially deaf, (yikes! hard of hearing) can hear quite nicely what is going on around me, over-hearing confidential information in hospitals, E.R. rooms, social security offices, banks and such. And if I can, I am quite sure those of you with normal hearing must feel like you are in surround-sound. Is it any wonder ID theft is such a common thing now? Heck! just go into most any public setting, or social service agency, and its just pretty transparent, or well, ear-parent.

Darla, I suspect it didn’t happen before a client brought it up was for the simple reason that it never occurred to the powers that be that this would be an issue. We’re probably going to see a lot of these issues coming up as time goes in in this Dilbert-driven cubicle society. I had occasion to visit the Social Security office not too long ago, and while my business was being dealt with I could hear, plain as day, what was happening in cubicles nearby. To me, this was more than a little unsettling. At some point these issues are going to have to be dealt with on a large scale.
