We are a family touched by blindness. 

On May 14, 2001 Father Leslie had a car accident  due to the 
negligence of a municipality that had not marked  and/or  
covered a hole in the street which was four feet  deep.  

Leslie has had to find his way back, first by learning to walk  
again and later as part of recovering from nerve damage he  
went on to lose his physical sight. Rehabilitation programs  
and support groups for the blind, we discovered, were all so  
focused on his individual need for "independence" that he  
became convinced to abandon his family. The road back has  
not been easy but together we are fighting the PAIN of PTSD  
that plagues an increasing number of families who have been  
betrayed by a system that isolates disabled persons from the  
people they love. It is our hope that in telling our story of  our  
own struggle to reunite and stay united that others will have  
the courage to do the same. We are led by our inner vision:  
hindsight, insight and foresight.
