To the directors of the Missouri Council of the Blind:
I have been attempting to find an agency to assist me with a situation I am facing, I have outlined it below:
I do AbilityOne Intake Evaluations. These evaluation consist of many subtests. The Street Skills Survival Tests (SSSQ) are a series of pictures that we have the individuals points at.
The Perceptual Memory Task (PMT) tests are conducted by the individual after looking at either a picture of blocks, colors or patterns then repeating those measuring recognition and sequencing.
The Prevocational Assessment (PAS) tests are: filing cards alphabetically, completing a visual maze, assembling small parts, pipe assembly, sorting 0-rings, block design (repeating a visual pattern) and color sorting.
I need to complete an assessment on a visually impaired person and I need to do so within the next week or so. Since I do not know how to adapt these tests to accommodate for this, I am hoping you can advise me or suggest an optional assessment program/application. Do you know of assessments that I can use to measure some of the same things (obviously not all of these things will be applicable):
The SSSQ measures:
Knowledge, understanding and strengths in the following areas:
Basic Concepts (colors, up, down, through between)
Functional Signs
Tools
Domestic Management
Health, Safety & First Aid
Public Services
Time
Monetary
Measurements
The PMT measures:
Spatial Concept Memory
Immediate Recall
Sequential Memory
Auditory Information Processing
Visual Information Processing
Immediate Auditory Recall
Immediate Visual Recall
Sequential Auditory Memory
Sequential Visual Memory
The PAS measures:
Aptitude in:
Clerical/Verbal
Motor Coordination
Finger Dexterity
Manual Dexterity
Form Perception
Spatial Perception
Color Discrimination
Any assistance/guidance/advice you can offer would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time.
