Perhaps I was a bit harsh.  Certainly, if I were just starting out, or
really needed a job, I would jump at it, but it is not the kind of
salary that would attract someone already working in the field. But it
would be a good first job, or stepping stone job.  After a couple of
years, you would be a good candidate for a position with the VA.

For this area that is reasonable. The cost of living is not anything
like California or New York. For a nonprofit, especially, to pay that,
it is a reasonable salary. Many people are not even making $30K.
