Hi:

The two websites I use to look for HR jobs are

www.shrm.org

for jobs in the private sector and

www.idealist.org

for jobs in the nonprofit sector.

I have never been able to figure out the government process; it's a language
all its own and have never found anyone to help me navigate the USAjobs
process, especially the KSAs.

You'll probably have to relocate, at least I had to relocate to find a
decent HR job.

Also, bear in mind the possibility that HR skills can transfer to other
fields.

Good luck, Peter

Subject: [acb-hsp] HELP FINDING A JOB IN HUMAN RESOURCES

Dear ACB Human Resources members,

Can you guys share with me resources to obtain a entry level job
in human resources in the federal government? I recently graduated
with a bachelors degree cum laude from Auburn University and have had
it hard to find any meaningful employment in my field. I'm a clientt
of Vocational Rehabilitation and cannot find the right nitch for my
credentials especially using Window-Eyes screen reader and my
relatively rookie experience don't help things either. I've tried out
the USA Jobs site, state to federal departments, the Work-Force
Recruitment program and recently the Lion's World IRS training program
but have heard of the three year long Department of Defense in
contract management just am not into that sort of thing.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated because I'm really
down and out right now. I'm extremely in need of counseling and
perhaps training using JAWS screen reader cause of the inherent biased
in the federal government towards them not Window-Eyes. I have talked
to my Vocational Rehabilitation counseler and had an opportunity for a
temporary three month long program for Social Security, etc but that
isn't what I'm looking for. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatlye
appreciated on this desperate individual known as myself!

Thanks and God bless,
Peter Q Wolfe, BA
