Meet the candidates!

Join us on Saturday, may 12th at 10 pacific 11 central and 1 eastern time to
speak with some of the candidates wanting your support as they look to
become officers and directors of GDUI.

This is an informal friendly gathering to discuss the hopes and interests
that the membership has for the future of GDUI. This will be a meet and
greet to allow for a casual exchange of thoughts and ideas, from the
membership, for just what is needed to take GDUI back to the size and
stature it held when our membership was over 10% of the guide dog users in
this country.

The candidates who wish to meet with you on the call believe that in order
for GDUI to flourish, we need to strengthen our interaction with the
membership. The candidates who have come together to invite you on this call
realize that in order for GDUI to attract and retain members, we must step
into the 21st century and harness the internet and electronic communications
for various aspects of managing and growing GDUI. We feel that this can only
be realized by focusing on the fiscal solvency and proper board governance
as other successful nonprofits do every day.

Some of the hopeful candidates are coming together to openly discuss what it
is that you, the membership, want and require of GDUI and what you require
of those individuals you elect to run this organization on your behalf from
this point forward.

Please note this call is an independent call and not part of the Candidate
Forums being held on May 16th and 19th. some of us, wanting to really have a
one on one with the members, feel this will allow for an opportunity to
share what it is that needs to be done to take GDUI to new heights.

If you are interested in joining us for this round table discussion, please
RSVP by 11:00 pm EDT Thursday May 10th to Albert Rizzi at
info at myblindspot.org <mailto:info at myblindspot.org> or Annie Chiappetta at
dungarees at optonline.net <mailto:dungarees at optonline.net>

and you will be sent the call in number and password for the conference
line.

Thank You.
