The release of Cowboys and Aliens this week reminds me that UNIVERSAL often
releases single-audio track versions of its DVDs to RENTAL companies (i.e.,
without description tracks).  For example, I rented Hanna recently from
REDBOX, and there was no description track.  I have updated our DVD listing
to include the warning about rentals on every Universal release this year.
Fie on them!

 

Also, once again I would like to make a plea for your assistance in helping
fund the Audio Description Project in the following manner:  If you CHOOSE
to make holiday (or anytime!) purchases from AMAZON, please get to Amazon by
clicking the Amazon shopping basket at the bottom of the main Audio
Description Project website page - or via ANY DVD link on our DVD page.  It
doesn't matter what you buy (you can immediately navigate away from the DVD,
for example):  anything you purchase in that session will result in a small
commission to the American Council of the Blind, our host organization that
does our funding.  Thanks!
