ACB BOARD OF PUBLICATIONS SOCIAL NETWORKING TASK FORCE Presents Two 
Exciting Volunteer Opportunities

As ACb enters the world of social networking, the Board of Publications 
invites our membership to apply for two unique volunteer positions. The 
Board of Publications will set up pages to represent ACB on Facebook 
and Twitter to communicate time-sensitive information about our 
organization and its programs and concerns. We would like to appoint a 
volunteer administrator for each site to coordinate the placement of 
information with ACB National Office staff and Social Networking Task 
force members. Please read the position descriptions below and 
requirements for each position. Information on how to apply is located 
at the end of this announcement.

Facebook Administrator

Job duties:

ü Set up and maintain a “fan page” representing the American Council of 
the Blind at the national level on Facebook.
ü Develop systems for receiving, editing and placing items on the page 
in coordination with the ACb National Office staff and the Board of 
Publications Social Networking task force.
ü Place, or supervise the placement of, items on the page, based on 
developed criteria.
ü Co-moderate, with the twitter Administrator and a representative from 
the Social Networking Task force, the “social networking” email list 
for ACB national committees, affiliates and administrative staff 
discussing the use of social media for their particular needs.
ü Notify Social Networking task Force members of trends, features and 
accessibility concerns involving Facebook.
ü Assure that all content on ACB’s Facebook pages meets accessibility 
standards as specified by the Board of Publications
ü Report to and be supervised by the Chairs of the Board of
Publications and Social Networking task force.

Requirements:

Ø Must have a current operational page or pages on Facebook or 
administer pages for another entity.
Ø Must demonstrate a solid knowledge of Facebook’s features for “fan pages.”
Ø Must demonstrate a solid knowledge of accessibility requirements. Ø 
Must have experience moderating and administering email lists. Ø Must 
be able to attend or be available for electronic communication during 
the annual summer convention and mid-year meetings.
Ø Must be well organized, self motivated, and able to work in teams 
with ACb national staff and Social Networking task Force members.

Twitter Administrator

Job duties:
