Subject: [leadership] Alert: Whitehouse Signing Ceremony for
Telecommunications Bill

On Friday afternoon President Obama will sign in to law the
Twenty-First Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act during
an official signing ceremony at the Whitehouse. I am proud to say that
ACB will be well represented at this event. Here is a list of ACB
members that I am aware of who will be in attendance during this
momentous occasion.

Kim Charlson, ACB First Vice President and constituent of Rep. Markey

Brian Charlson, ACB member and constituent of Rep. Markey

Bob Hachey, President of the Bay State Council of the Blind and
Constituent of Rep. Markey

Melanie Brunson, Executive Director of ACB

Eric Bridges, Director of Advocacy and Governmental Affairs for ACB

Dionne Matthews, Office Manager/Executive Assistant for ACB

Pratik Patel, Chair of ACB’s Information Access committee

Jesse Acosta, ACB member

As I wrote in my message to you last week as the bill passed through
the House, this signing ceremony would not have been possible without
the tireless advocacy of ACB’s members. Collectively as an organization
we played a critical role in having this legislation become law.

Thank you for all of your work over the past 3 years! There will be
much more advocacy needed to insure that the law is implemented
correctly. I will communicate those efforts in due time but for now
please enjoy the satisfaction that can only come from a job well done!

Eric
