Congratulations! Your advocacy has produced success. Rep. Cliff Stearns
(R-FL) introduced the amendment to incorporate provisions of H.R. 734, the
Pedestrian Safety Enhancement Act of 2009, into H.R. 5381, the Motor Vehicle
Safety Act. Mr. Stearns was interrupted by the chairman, Henry Waxman
(D-CA), who voiced his full support of the amendment, which passed
unanimously. We will send the text of the amendment, as passed, as soon as
it is available.
 
The hearing on the bill continues. It is expected that the bill will be
approved by the committee.
