[bscb-announce] URGENT: The MBTA Fare Increase and Service Reduction Hearings begin this week

Hi all,
The MBTA Fare Increase and Service Reduction Hearings begin this week. The
Board of the Bay State Council of the Blind formed a Committee to study the
proposals to develop a response / position to the MBTA regarding the two
published proposals.
The MBTA has posted several substantive documents regarding the proposals at
<http://www.mbta.com/jointhediscussion> www.mbta.com/jointhediscussion.
Below is the schedule of meetings for the week of January 17. (Tuesday in
Newton and Worcester, Wednesday in Chelsea and Thursday in Roxbury).
A limited number of Large Print and Braille copies of the Information
Booklet will be available at the meetings. Please request these documents
when you check-in.
You are encouraged to testify as individual consumers. You are welcome to
identify yourself as a member of BSCB but are testifying as an individual
consumer.
It is extremely important that you attend these hearings.
Please provide us with any feedback / comments you have as a result of
attending these meetings and/or reading the MBTA documents.
