As well Nina, I don't think further funding is necessary for this issue, especially considering how the T has mismanaged their budget.

Alice and Allison,
I see that I have started a huge disagreement between the two of you. As for funding and maintenance of the announcement devices this should be part of the operating budget and should not be a reason why passengers can not discriminate between train announcements. Even sighted passengers can not understand the announcements when there is a large crowd and the noisy fans are in operation. So what can BSCB do to pressure the MBTA to rectify this problem? This is the question not who will pay for the solution as we do not know the solution yet.
