That is true Nora as I have seen some sighted people say to me they can
not understand the announcements and they have to run up to the front of
the car to see the letter on the front of the car which is dangerous in
a crowded situation such as when the Red sox are in town or when another
event is occurring at the Hynes Convention center.

Just tp clarify, people who can see do NOT depend on announcements to
determine what line a green limne train is serving. The green line
trains all have panels on the outside, similar to those on buses, that
indicate the train's line and destination.
