Hi Alison,
OK, I guess it's time to go into babysitter mode!
I tried a very subtle statement yesterday reminding all of us to disagree
agreeably.
No one list member has the right to dictate to any other list member what is
and is not permitted or appropriate on list with the exception of me the
moderator and the last thing I want to be doing is dictating to others as to
discussion topics and personal points of view.
let me make it perfectly clear that all points of view are to be treated
respectfully by all list members.
Just because an issue was discussed previously does not make it out of
bounds especially in an area as crucial as transportation.
I certainly don't expect or want all of us to agree on all points of any
discussion.
What I am demanding is that we all treat each other with respect.
WE seem to have two discussions taking place simultaneously. One is whether
or not BSCB ought to either advocate for or contribute to MBTA funding.
The second is how to improve the rider experience for blind persons through
decreased noise levels and increased presence of stop announcements.
So, let's have two subject lines going forward.
1. Noise and stop Announcements
2. MBTA funding.
If anyone believes we need a third subject line or if the ones I've chosen
could be better stated, please reply back on list.
Let us stick to the issues at hand here and refrain from getting into
personalities.
also, their is only one moderator here and that's me. Attempts at moderation
by non-moderators can lead to hurt feelings, miss-understandings and are
counterproductive to any healthy discussion.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
