[bscb-l] list moderator--attention

Hi Alison,
OK, I guess it's time to go into babysitter mode!
I tried a very subtle statement yesterday reminding all of us to disagree 
agreeably.
No one list member has the right to dictate to any other list member what is 
and is not permitted or appropriate on list with the exception of me the 
moderator and the last thing I want to be doing is dictating to others as to 
discussion topics and personal points of view.
let me make it perfectly clear that all points of view are to be treated 
respectfully by all list members.
Just because an issue was discussed previously does not make it out of 
bounds especially in an area as crucial as transportation.
I certainly don't expect or want all of us to agree on all points of any 
discussion.
What I am demanding is that we all treat each other with respect.
WE seem to have two discussions taking place simultaneously. One is whether 
or not BSCB ought to either advocate for or contribute to MBTA funding.
The second is how to improve the rider experience for blind persons through 
decreased noise levels and increased presence of stop announcements.
So, let's have two subject lines going forward.
1. Noise and stop Announcements
2. MBTA funding.
If anyone believes we need a third subject line or if the ones I've chosen 
could be better stated, please reply back on list.
Let us stick to the issues at hand here and refrain from getting into 
personalities.
also, their is only one moderator here and that's me. Attempts at moderation 
by non-moderators can lead to hurt feelings, miss-understandings and are 
counterproductive to any healthy discussion.
