Guide Dog Users of Florida (GDUF) is an affiliate of the Florida Council of the Blind and Guide Dog Users Inc, affiliates of the American Council of the Blind. GDUF is a support and advocacy organization for guide dog users living in the State of Florida. The organization promotes the teaming of the guide dog with an individual who is blind or visually impaired. GDUF advocates for and with guide dog users to protect the access rights that are theirs under both State and Federal law. One of the organization's primary goals is to educate guide dog users regarding their rights and responsibilities. GDUF members serve as mentors and empathizers for those who seek that assistance.
In order to fund the organizations ongoing work and to promote safe travel for guide dog teams and all pedestrians, Guide Dog Users of Florida is selling a Lighted Safety Arm Band.
The light, an L E D is visible up to one mile. There is a three position slide switch on the device. The middle position is the off position,
sliding the switch to one side causes the light to blink. Sliding the switch in the other direction displays a steady light.
The band is adjustable to fit on an arm, an ankle or a guide dog harness, making it a natural fit for any pedestrian or bicyclist. Pedestrians of all ages will benefit from the added safety of making drivers aware of their presence with this easy to use, attractive and far reaching lighted arm band as they traverse the streets and highways in haze or darkness. .
The light is powered by a replaceable hearing aid type battery.
This arm band can be yours for a $10 donation to Guide Dog Users of Florida.
