the olympus digital voice recorders like the ds-50 have come down in price and have talking menus and are easy to use. they also can transfer the entire recording to the computer by a  usb cable in just minutes so you always have a  copy of the class. I  send one with my son to college to record a  7  hour course. Randi Rabiner
