I use Microsoft Security Essentials, and it doesn't seem to bother my computer too much. It slows it down a little, but that could be because this is an old computer. I use JAWS 11 with its latest updates, and it doesn't appear to have a problem with the anti-virus program I run. In order to really protect your computer, you can also get Super Anti-spyware and Super ad blocker. Both are compatible with JAWS, and work well with Microsoft Security Essentials.
Hope this helps.

Subject: [fcb-l] Screen readers and anti virus programs.
Hi everyone, Mike Ulrich here.
As some of you might know, I've just started with Jaws and it seems to me that my Jaws won't work with my Century link anti virus program.
I've talked to other Jaws users and they have the same problem with other anti virus programs, such as Norton and McAfee. I'd like everyone's opinion on this.
What anti virus program with what screen reader program are you using, and most importantly, how well does it work?
Maybe there's anti virus programs out there that work well with Jaws? Or I just don't know what I'm doing?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, ..... Mike
