Hi Pat,

This is strange because I have updated 3 units with no problems and haven't heard of this issue on the hims notetaker list.  The new upgrade added support for NLS and required a reformat of the flash memory once the up grade is complete.  The Hims instructions gave details for backing up your data and personal settings which aren't the same and may be where the mix up is.  The reformat is required because a partition is created to hold the .KXO file that authorizes your nls books.

  If you,  or anyone you know is using the Braille Sense Plus from HIMS, please let them know not to get the most recent update until they call HIMS' Technology Support (512-837-2000) to find out if HIMS has fixed a glitch which removes all previous information on the Braille Sense (including email), and does not allow it to be transferred back if the client has saved the information elsewhere.  This just happened to a client of mine, and HIMS told her quite a few people have called in with the same problem and they are looking into it.
