Holy Key rap!

Now say that, 5 times fast, while standing on your head in the shower!

Damn! Sorry I, once again, Digress!

Here's the deal. As most of you guys know, the local Powers that be, have
been side tracking, IE. Blowing me off, my request to put in, an Audible
Crossing Signal. Let me rephrase that, to what this officially is called. An
Accessible Pedestrian Signal, Right Debbie?

Anyway after being promised this for over one year now, today I went up to
Sweetbay to do some food shopping. I get up to that intersection and Waa La!
"There she blows!". It has been installed! I was ecstatic! So I figured I'd
better test drive this thing to make sure everything is up to snuff. Good
thing I did. When the signal started counting down to zero, telling the
pedestrian it's time to cross safely, the traffic was still very much
coming! For about another half a light signal cycle! Plus the fact that you
could barely hear the damn thing! Close, but no cigar! So very close!

So after I finished my shopping I tried the signal again, crossing Cape
Coral Pkwy to go home. Same thing! It wasn't a mirage!

I got home and called the Cape Coral Citizens Action hotline and told them
all about it. They said someone would contact me from the proper department.

A side note:

After this call, I got a call from State Representative Gary Aubuchon's top
aid. Saying that the Representative, after reviewing our position paper and
looking into the bill, said if HB405 goes through all 4 committee's and
hits the floor for a vote, he would most definitely vote yes!

So that gives us at least 3 rock solid yes votes. It ain't much, but it's a
good start!

Just thought I'd pass all this on to you all.

Thanks,...Mike
